Barnett Hill Hotel, a Queen Anne Mansion, located in the heart of the Surrey Hills, has recently been taken over by Alexander Hotels. Over the last 6 months the Hotel has undergone an extensive transformation and is now being marketed as a luxury 4 star boutique hotel. A few weeks ago we were invited for a show round and dinner.
From our last visit, a good few years ago, Barnett Hill Hotel has been tastefully refurbished and all the public areas are looking extremely elegant.
There are two event rooms located on the ground floor; the Garden Suite which is the largest meeting room accommodating up to 50 delegates cabaret style, and the Drawing Room up to 40 guests for dinner.
The Drawing Room looks out over the gardens and would be great in the Summer where you can walk out onto the terrace for pre-dinner drinks.
There are 2 smaller meeting rooms on the 1st floor which work very well for breakouts or training. They do have a few other meeting spaces that are currently being re-decorated and will be available soon.
The bedrooms are luxurious and decorated in soft tones. We saw a couple of their suites which are huge, a few also have the bath situated within the bedroom! Most of the bedrooms offer amazing views across the grounds and Surrey Hills. There are a total of 54 bedrooms however some still are under refurbishment.
The Oak Room is a 2AA Rosette restaurant with a small bar adjacent to this where guests can relax & unwind. There are also a few other lounge areas which make the hotel have a very much feel from home vibe.
All in all it was a lovely evening and it was great to be able to see the improvements which have been made. Watch this space for new & exciting things happening at the hotel, we will keep you updated!
Thanks to Jessica McKechie for your kind hospitality, we all had a great evening.
